This soft brown sugar is made from refined cane sugar and is a very fine grain which enables rapid dissolving. It retains an amount of natural molasses in the sugar which makes for the golden brown colour it holds and the softer more moist texture. It has a sweet caramel-like aroma and flavour.
Brown sugar is most commonly used in baking, desserts, cakes, biscuits, muffins or slices when a rich sweetness is desired. It can be used easily in hot beverages, sauces, marinades, chutneys, preserves or any savoury recipes since it is so quick to dissolve.
