Long grain brown rice has slender kernels that are four times longer than their width. Because brown rice isn’t milled as much as white, it retains the bran and germ, making it more nutritious and an excellent source of whole grain.
To cook, add a 1:1½ ratio of rinsed rice to cold water with a pinch of salt then bring to the boil. Once boiling, simmer for 12-15 minutes, then drain and gently fluff with a fork. For an extra flavour boost, add 1 Tbsp of vegetable stock to your water.
