It can take you to England, where the prized condiment is copiously added to pub fare, or to an oceanside boardwalk where french fries topped with malt vinegar are a summer staple. But malt vinegar is more than just a dipping sauce—it is also a great addition to recipes. Malt Vinegar is produced from the same grains used for making beer, with a similar lemon-nut-caramel flavour as malted ale. It ranges in colour from light to dark brown. Our vinegar is a dark brown and 4% Acetic Acid.
Used in salad dressings, marinades, vinaigrettes, food preserving, and chutneys. A condiment used for salty french fries, it's acidity pairs well with sugar also and helps balance the sweetness. It is used in brines for meat and poultry and can be added to side dishes for extra punch. Add to coleslaw instead of white vinegar for a twist, or use with a sweet syrup like maple syrup for a barbecue sauce or meat glaze, or jazz up your aioli.
