In order to maintain the nutrient integrity of the chocolate buttons, when melting them down in softly boiling water make sure you keep the temperature below 40°C and constantly swirl the chocolate around within the pot. Chocolate buttons can also be chopped roughly for an addition into cookies, loaves, cakes or use to garnish on top of muffins.
